My bill proposing a Sexual Assault Survivor Bill of Rights (SB1355) was passed unanimously by the entire Senate!
The bill protects the rights of sexual assault survivors by guaranteeing rape kit collection, examination, and long-term preservation. Survivors of sexual assault would also be notified of the release of their assaulter, a much needed step that allows them to protect themselves.
It still has to pass the House and ultimately be signed by Governor Ducey. I need your help to make sure the House of Representatives hears this bill and continues to be unanimously supported. Please call your state representatives and use the Request to Speak (RTS) system to help us keep moving it forward and help victims of violence by getting SB1355 passed and signed.
