Jobs and Economic Development

 

• Focus on making our state a leader in the development of solar power and renewable energy manufacturing.
  
  
• Close tax loopholes.  There are over $10 billion of tax loopholes which exist in Arizona's tax code and it's time to close the loopholes that benefit only the rich and special interests.  These loopholes, such as tax-free county club memberships, spa treatments, and 4-inch pipes exemptions are a waste of our tax dollars.
  
  
• Go after tax cheats and uncollected taxes. Arizona has an opportunity to help balance the budget by going after hundreds of millions in uncollected taxes that rule breakers have not paid.
  
  
• Stop flooding the emergency rooms and wasting taxpayer dollars. Republicans’ attempt to roll back a voter-approved health care initiative would cut nearly 300,000 Arizonans off of health care and lead to the elimination of 42,000 health care jobs. They even have tried to eliminate KidsCare, which provides health insurance to 40,000 low-income children. They also eliminated funding for life-saving transplants and refused to reinstate it before two Arizonans died.
