Tax Reform

Arizona is in a budget crisis. Some would argue that this is because of overspending. The fact is that there is not any fat left in the budget to cut.

The unfortunate truth is that we can’t cut any more spending without jeopardizing education, public health and safety, and the economic future of Arizona.  It's not about raising or cutting taxes - it's about tax reform.  It is time for us to undertake true structural tax reform that will save Arizonans money while also giving us the resources to meet the demands of a growing population.

Our priority should be to close tax loopholes and giveaways that are benefiting big businesses and special interests.  This can be done through structural tax reform that will actually lower the tax burden for hard working citizens throughout Arizona, while making the system more fair and generating more stable revenues for the state. This, along with other long-term measures, will help to stabilize our state’s revenues so that we will be better able to weather an economic downturn in the future.
