State Lawmakers Otondo, Epstein, Espinoza and Tsosie Endorse Katie Hobbs

PHOENIX — Four more state legislators endorsed Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Katie Hobbs this week.

Sen. Lisa Otondo, D-Yuma; Rep. Diego Espinoza, D-Tolleson; Rep. Mitzi Epstein, D-Ahwatukee/Tempe; and Rep. Myron Tsosie, D-Chinle lent their support of Hobbs in the pivotal gubernatorial race that will determine the next leader of our state, where basic freedoms and democracy are under attack.

The four state leaders touted Hobbs’ strength, leadership and hard work under pressure:

“Katie Hobbs is the only candidate who has what it takes to win in November,” Otondo said. “I’ve watched Katie take on the toughest races that people thought were unwinnable ー and she beats the odds every single time. She’s proven she can win statewide, and she’s proven that she can deliver results for the people she’s elected to serve, and that’s why I’m proud to support her for governor.”

“Katie Hobbs understands what it takes for Arizona to succeed, and that’s looking out for families, small businesses and workers who keep our economic engine running,” Espinoza said. “She’s the leader who has what it takes to lower costs, get Arizonans back to work in good paying jobs and protect our health and well-being, and I look forward to working with her when she becomes the next governor of Arizona.”

“Our freedoms. Our schools. Our right to be treated with respect,” Epstein said. “These are all on the line now. Katie Hobbs has proven that she is the strong leader we need as our governor. Katie has the tenacity to stand up to those willing to destroy our democracy. We’ve seen her speaking up for us as Secretary of State on the national news time and again. She represents Arizona with dignity, truth, and professionalism. Katie knows you are glad to have these better job options that we all enjoy now, but also she knows that wages have not kept up with the cost of housing. Katie knows that you want strong public schools and high quality choices. I’m endorsing Katie because she is ready right now to work with legislators for a brighter economic future that brings more opportunities for you.”

“Katie Hobbs has proven that she cares about every corner of the state ー that she listens and that she takes decisive action with all Arizonans in mind,” Tsosie said. “She has a track record of working across the aisle to gain bipartisan support for Arizona’s priorities, and I look forward to working with her to solve Arizona’s water crisis and creating strong and lasting partnerships among tribal communities in our state.”

“I’m honored that Sen. Otondo and Reps. Espinoza, Epstein and Tsosie have chosen to back our campaign for the future of Arizona,” Hobbs said. “Hailing from districts across our state, these public servants represent the diverse viewpoints that make Arizona great. As governor, I look forward to working with them and their colleagues across the aisle to ensure all voices are heard.”
